The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us on this journey and help drive the evolution of our core interactive video platform. This is a unique opportunity to join a company that, while still small, has great ambitions. 

As a Back-End Engineer with some Fullstack experience, adept in Node.js/Typescript and AWS, you will join a Product development team with a wide range of Front-End, Back-End, Design, Product and DevOps skills

This role is suitable for someone who is happiest building software in a secure, well-tested, well-documented and performant way, whilst collaborating strongly with peers. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Build, ship and maintain scalable high quality software in an agile fashion

  • Develop new functionality based on requirements from Product Management

  • Collaborate with Design, DevOps, QA and Project Management teams

  • Work in an iterative way to remove technical debt and improve the platform architecture

  • Evolve our APIs and the Developer Experience of using our Platform 

  • Liaise with QA to prepare and document testing requirements

  • Build strong relationships with our mobile and web application development teams

  • Develop a deep understanding of our current infrastructure

  • Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvements

Requirements

You will be working with a team that is inventing the future of video commerce and interactive storytelling. Ideally, you will have the following:

  • 4-5 years experience with Node.js/TypeScript

  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Comfortable with building modern enterprise-grade products

  • Wide knowledge of the broad range of AWS services and CI/CD

  • Expertise in developing against both SQL and NoSQL databases

  • Experience with automated testing and frameworks

  • Strong documentation skills and fluent English

  • Experience working in a modern product team structure

  • Understanding of secure development practices

  • Strong desire to continually learn and improve your own skills

  • Thrive in a fast-moving, fully-remote environment

Bonus Points but not mandatory

  • Experience with video technologies, low latency live-streaming, and players

  • Experience of Python and Go

  • Experience building content management systems

  • Experience with leading ecommerce platforms

  • Experience working in teams that build native mobile or TV apps
