The Opportunity

Axonista is an award-winning video technology company, working with some of the world’s most forward thinking media companies and brands. Using our technology, customers can build and launch any interactive video experience, from shoppable video to streaming services. Our customers operate on the global stage, and include QVC, HSN, WaterBear, Virgin Media, and the Irish Film Institute.

We are looking for an experienced Developer Advocate to join us in building a best-in-class Developer Experience on our Platform. This will enable Customers, Partners and our own App teams to quickly and easily build globally impactful video-first applications on Web, Mobile, Smart TVs and Set Top Boxes. 

This is a fully remote position (working from home) and we are happy to welcome applicants from Ireland, Croatia or Spain.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Build out our Developer Hub and coordinate the creation of a wide range of enabling content including howtos, articles, whitepapers, videos, blogs and newsletters

  • Take feedback regularly from our partners, customers and internal App Dev teams

  • Work closely with the product team to improve the platform

  • Analyse developer platform and API/SDK usage/behaviour to identify areas for improvement

  • Collaborate with Platform and App Dev teams to define new and improved SDKs

  • Use friction logging and dog-fooding to help drive the developer platform forward

  • Be a point of contact for our developer community and provide technical guidance

  • Work with our App Dev teams to develop best-practice sample code and applications to accelerate development of new apps on our platform

Requirements

You will be working with multi-functional multi-country teams with expertise in Web, Mobile and OTT applications. Ideally, you will have the following:

  • 5+ years in a technical role

  • Experience as a DevRel/Developer Advocate/ Sales Engineer

  • Experience of working with REST APIs and API integrations, with knowledge of GraphQL

  • Awareness of mobile app development approaches

  • Highly productive at writing clear impactful technical documentation

  • Opinionated on effective ways of on-boarding new developers

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with developers

  • Strongly data-driven with knowledge of multiple analytics platforms

  • Experience in creating technical content such as blogs, videos, and presentations

  • Passion for technology and the ability to learn new technologies quickly

  • Empathy for developers and the desire to help them be successful in their projects

Bonus Points but not mandatory

  • Experience with video technologies, low latency live-streaming and players

  • Experience with Smart TV platforms such as LG or Samsung

  • Experience with web-based Set Top Box platforms

  • Experience with video commerce

Axonista is operating a fully remote team. We are Headquartered in Ireland with our teams dotted throughout Europe. This is a fully remote position (working from home) with the opportunity for in-person collaboration at times throughout the year.
